As a school kid, by July, I was “bored”, having exhausted all my fun options. Of course back in those days we didn’t have PS2, Facebook and the flip camera. I still contend that had they invented digital cameras back in the 80s I would be a famous movie director by now. Instead, I had to wait till I was an adult to live out my acting/directing ambitions. I’m a huge movie buff! Whether it’s my ADHD or something else, turn on the TV & BAM, you’ve got my attention. Hyper-focus on movies I love means that I remember literally dozen of quotes, so I’m going to share some of them with you this week.
From Seabiscuit, a great underdog story: “You know, you don’t throw a whole life away just ’cause he’s banged up a little.” I can so relate to that! You don’t throw a whole life away, just because you have an obstacle in your life that most others don’t. No room for feeling sorry for yourself. Work hard and you will overcome!
I am half way through The Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Had to see for myself what all the fuss is about. The book is fun and funny and it got me thinking about getting back to journaling again. Of course I’m going to see the movie! This will be the first time in my life that I will read the book, before seeing the movie! My wife keeps telling me that the book is always better than the movie…what do you think?
